Did you know that the endangered Katipo (red back) spider is New Zealand's only venomous native spider? Sure a few sneaky Aussie ones have snuck in over the years, but our Katipo is unique. The good news is, the Katipo spider is very shy, and not aggressive. It still wouldn't make a great pet, but knowing this definitely makes it a lot less frightening to me!
Our soft toy version of the Katipo spider has realistic markings on its back. It's soft and chubby, and - dare I say it - CUTE!
